Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies
These homemade Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies are a longtime favorite in our family!

The “secret ingredient” of instant vanilla pudding mix in this chocolate chip cookie recipe results in cookies that are extra soft and moist with wonderful vanilla flavor. Make this recipe once and you’ll come back to it again and again!

- All Purpose Flour
 - Baking Soda
 - Unsalted butter
 - Salt
 - Light Brown Sugar
 - White Sugar
 - Instant Vanilla Pudding (Two small boxes, 3.4 oz each)
 - Eggs
 - Vanilla Extract
 - Semisweet Chocolate Chips
 - Chopped Walnuts or Pecans (optional)
 
How to Make Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies

After pre-heating the oven, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Next, cream the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a large bowl. Mix in the instant vanilla pudding until blended. Add the eggs, one at a time, and then the vanilla extract. Gently stir in the flour mixture just until combined.
Next, fold in the chocolate chips (and chopped nuts if you are using them).

Drop the cookie dough by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes at 350F. Edges should be golden brown.

- 4½ cup All Purpose Flour
 - 2 teaspoons baking soda
 - 1 teaspoon salt (If using salted butter, no need to use the salt.)
 - 4 sticks unsalted butter, softened (This is 2 cups)
 - 1½ cups light brown sugar
 - ½ cup white sugar
 - 2 (3.4 oz) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
 - 4 cups semisweet chocolate chips (adjust amount to your liking)
 - 2 cups chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
 
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
 - Sift together the all purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium sized bowl and set aside. (If you do not have a sifter, whisk the ingredients until well blended.)
 - Next, in a large bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar with an electric mixer. Add the instant pudding mix, mixing until combined.
 - Next, stir in the eggs and vanilla extract. Add the flour mixture, gently stirring until blended. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips (and nuts if using nuts).
 - Drop the cookie dough in rounded spoonfuls onto the ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Edges will turn golden brown. Makes about 6 dozen.
 - Move the cookies to a cooling rack to cool. Then, store in an airtight container.
