  • unsalted butter (if using salted butter, you can omit the salt from the recipe)
  • white sugar 
  • vanilla extract

  • all purpose flour (120g)
  • unsweetened cocoa powder

How to Make Homemade Brownies

Here is a quick look at our steps for this easy brownie recipe. You can find the recipe card below!

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8″ square pan.
  • Melt butter, add sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and mix well.
  • In a medium size bowl, combine the flour, cream, baking powder, and salt. Mix until well blended.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean or with just a few crumbs attached. Cool in the pan at least 30 minutes before cutting. Makes 16 (2×2″) brownies. (The brownies in our photo below are bite sized and so there are more!)

Ingredients
  

  • 1½ sticks unsalted butter, melted (168g) (If using salted butter, you can omit the salt in the recipe).
  • 1½ cups sugar (300g)
  • 1½ teaspoon vanilla extract (6g)
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¾ all purpose flour (120g)
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (20g)
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder (3g)
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. grease an 8" square pan.
