Butterscotch Squares

These flavorful butterscotch squares are simple to make and so delicious!

- 2 sticks unsalted butter (57g)
- 1½ cups light brown sugar (321g)
- 3 large eggs
- 2¼ cups all purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Preheat oven to 325 ℉ and grease & flour an 8x13 inch pan.
Melt the butter over low heat. Add the sugar and let cool.
Beat the eggs and add to the mixture.
Add the dry ingredients to a medium size bowland whisk until blended. Add to the batter.
Stir in the vanilla extract and chopped pecans.
Bake at 325℉ for 30-35 minutes. I loosely covered mine after 25 minutes to prevent from becoming too dark.
Once done, cool in the pan before cutting.
