Butterscotch Squares

These flavorful butterscotch squares are simple to make and so delicious!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter (57g)
  • cups light brown sugar (321g)
  • 3 large eggs
  • cups all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325 ℉ and grease & flour an 8x13 inch pan.
  • Melt the butter over low heat. Add the sugar and let cool.
  • Beat the eggs and add to the mixture.
  • Add the dry ingredients to a medium size bowland whisk until blended. Add to the batter.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and chopped pecans.
  • Bake at 325℉ for 30-35 minutes. I loosely covered mine after 25 minutes to prevent from becoming too dark.
  • Once done, cool in the pan before cutting.
