Chocolate Apple Cake
This Chocolate Apple Cake (or Apple German Chocolate Cake) has been around for years! It has a light chocolate flavor with a hint of apple. It is so simple to make, yet is sure to impress!
Ingredients
- 21 oz Apple Pie Filling
- 1 box German Chocolate Cake Mix
- ¾ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- ½ cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F and great & flour a 9x13 inch cake pan.
- Pour the apple pie filling in a blender and chop/blend until the large apple pieces are approximately 1/4 inch. (You can also pour into a bowl and chop by hand if you'd rather). Add to a large mixing bowl.
- Add in the cake mix and eggs. Mix on medium speed for 5 minutes.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and chocolate chips. Bake for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs attached.
- Cool and serve. 12-15 servings.
