2eggs, room temperature (If in a hurry, warm the eggs in a bowl of warm water for 5 minutes).
2cupsall purpose flour(252g)
1teaspoonsalt
2teaspoonsvanilla extract(8g)
1cuppecans, chopped
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 10x15x1" jelly roll pan and/or line with parchment paper (leaving an overhang on each side so that you can easily lift the bars out of the pan.)
For the Chocolate Mixture
In a medium saucepan, add the chocolate chips, condensed milk, and butter. Stir over low or low-medium heat until smooth. Then, remove from heat. (You could also use a double boiler for this step).
For the Brown Sugar Batter
In a large mixing bowl, add the melted butter, eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir, until well combined.
Next, add the flour and salt, stirring just until combined. Then, fold in the chopped pecans.
Filling the Pan and Baking
Spread half of the brown sugar batter into the pan. Spoon the warm chocolate mixture over the brown sugar batter, spreading to cover.
Next, drop batter by the spoonful over the chocolate layer. Spread and swirl the batter over the chocolate layer.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 minutes and check or doneness. Move the pan to a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars. Makes 4-5 dozen.
