Easy Chicken Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, cut into bite sized pieces or shredded (You can use a store bought rotisserie chicken if you'd like to save time)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10oz) (common variations have cream of mushroom or cream of celery)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk (You can also use buttermilk)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Place the chicken in a greased baking dish. Lightly season with salt and pepper if not seasoned already.
  • Combine the chicken broth, chicken soup, pepper and garlic powder in a saucepan, stirring over medium heat just until it begins to simmer. Then, pour over the chicken in the baking dish.
  • In another bowl, combine the melted butter, flour, and baking powder. Add milk and stir just until well combined. Spoon over the chicken and gently spread over the top.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F for 30-35 minutes. Allow to cool for 15 minutes to set up before serving.

Notes

Reheat leftovers in the microwave, or heat at 350 degrees F until heated through.
