Ginger Snaps Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • sticks butter
  • cups sugar (1 cup will be used in the batter, the cookie dough balls will be dipped into the remaining 1/4 cup before baking).
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350℉ and line cookie sheet(s) with parchment paper.
  • In a medium sized bowl, add flour, baking soda, ginger, and one teaspoon cinnamon.Set aside.
  • In the bowl of a mixer, mix softened butter until smooth. Gradually add one cup sugar until lightened in color and fluffy (5-6 minutes).
  • Mix in the egg and molasses to combine.
  • Next, add in the flour mixture, mixing at low speed until just combined.
  • Shape dough into balls. Dip one side of each ball into the remaining 1/4 cup sugar.
  • Place on parchment lined baking sheet for 12-15 minutes. When done, move the cookies to a cooling rack.
  • Makes 3 dozen
